Only Child 01:44
Grow old at home. Love young, Young love

Awenda 05:17
I’ll try to be fair this time, I won’t let you down the wrong road. I can’t be nice all the time, There’s a point where the soul and mind will draw a line. He confesses his fate to bring heaven like a doorframe. But, this time he’s too late. Buried beneath the basement lies his name. He said “Son, there are times when your heart will lose the way.” You got to make time before the levy – breaks. There’s blood on the ground, And it’s trailing far behind me. I’ve lost some friends on the way, But I’ve put that life behind me. Well us kids grow up quick, There are a thousand ghosts behind me, The wolves are taking me back, Into the great wide weeping ocean. You can take it. You can have it all.

Now we were short of affection. Kind of like the walking dead. That thought was in my head. Though we were full of love. Can you remember when I’d hide downstairs? We pretended like no one cared. I was the type of guy who would never resort… To tell a fuckin’ lie. I thought you were the type of girl who could be her self. Go on and rule the whole damn world. Now time was passing right on by me. And I was totally unaware. That was time we could have shared. At once this love is woven, I build you up like a sand castle. Then the water rushes you away. Left to think about it everyday. I was the type of guy who would never resort. To tell a fuckin’ lie. I thought you were the type of girl who could be her self. Go on and rule the world.

Substance 04:12
You can tell me stories. ‘Cause I won’t be the first one to believe. You said “Your writing scriptures, and trying to fulfill some prophecy.” Now there’s a light out. There’s a light shining in front of you. There’s a god out. There’s a god I swear he’s living inside of you. We were simply talking about the end. Oh, oh, oh. Withholding all your worries. You’re making sure you have a place to stay. You said that “there is substance.” Within yourself, don’t let it stray away. We were simply talking about the end.

Margaret 02:25
Can you inherit - this unmerited grace? We are related and this shapes our fate.

Where ever you go I hope you know you’re never alone. Well it was dark out, and the rain kept me away. And if there is snow I’ll beg the sun if she can hold the cold. Well I was locked out, so I decided that I would move away. No I guess I didn’t really know the truth this time. ‘Cause there’s another type of girl, and she can make things right. No I am not the kind of man to choose another in spite. You left me drowning in the dark when you blocked your light. As I set out to see I find it hard to believe. That we have dug graves, and then we laid them all over like money. You were a lock without a key, so I am roots without the tree. I couldn’t breathe, but I could leave – I didn’t like the taste of your honey. No I guess I didn’t really know the truth this time. ‘Cause there’s another type of girl, and she can make things right. No I am not the kind of man to choose another in spite. You left me drowning in the dark when you blocked your light.

First of all – I didn’t mean to strike you in the heart. The knots that we were tying fell apart. Remember what you said right from the start? That “the love I gave to you was priceless art”. Missed coloured skies brought the warmth back into your eyes. And I’m thankful for that day, so say thanks to your family. Secondly – I tried to let you go, and set you free. It was the only way that I could really see that. The hate that I portrayed was about me. And the horse you road upon was from a dream. Missed coloured skies brought the warmth back into your eyes. And I’m thankful for that day, so say thanks to your family. Begin again. As we begin again. ‘Cause we started off as friends. Yeah, we did. Those missed coloured skies brought the warmth back into your eyes. And I’m thankful for that day, so say thanks to your family

In a small, slumber, lumber town. Courage lives beyond this ground. As relationships go round and round. There is something born it’s a something sound. No, I cannot sleep I cannot walk. Louder speech ‘cause we like to talk. Any noise would cause a shock. So come to me when I’m in the dark. Well it’s just up the street, but it tires my feet. I take a short cut through the rotary. So it means something more to me, And it’s just north of Barrie. We have fires in the night, And we try not to fight around them. In the midst of quiet meadows. I call it home, I call it home. In the midst of quiet meadows, I call it home. It was life changing. Patterns were making movement. As the rain drops touched by lights trickle down. With every second counting are landing is placed. To reach the goal of withholding nature’s grace. It’s been month-less year, honey – And this whole year, seems weightless. But you were not left behind. Only saved from green eyes. Because without you I see the truth - And I see where it lies. It’s been a minute-less day, honey – And all these years were moments. For you.

Remains 03:24
Well the sun doesn’t set. And we forcefully forget What are parents will regret I’m so happy that we met In a flooded-gated-city Lights at night illuminating With this weight that you carry From a town just north of Barrie. Grow old at home. Love young, young love.

about

Recorded & Produced by Philip Child in London, Ontario in an attic on Hyman street over the course of 8 broke months. Out of love and hope these songs were constructed as a painting to be remembered. This is an album for all the dear people who ever let me live with them, eat their food, or drink their booze. It goes out to everyone that broke my heart, without that: this album would not be.

Mastered in Milton, Ontario

Thanks to everyone who made this possible.
